Khattar, of the Sanatan Mahasangh, found himself at the center of a controversy that spiraled after a viral video showed him speaking at an event with notable figures, including State Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho.
Religious tensions flared following the video's circulation, prompting local authorities to register an FIR against Khattar, accusing him of creating enmity between communities. His statements stirred significant unrest among those who hold St Francis Xavier, Goa's patron saint, in high regard.
