In a significant breakthrough, Punjab Police arrested Gurjinder Singh, linked to the freight corridor railway track blast in Shambhu, Patiala. This arrest was part of a joint operation involving Patiala Police and the State Special Operation Cell in Amritsar.
Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav stated that Gurjinder Singh, alias Baba Beant, played a crucial role in multiple attacks on railway infrastructure under the directives of overseas handlers. He was associated with Jagroop Singh, who was killed while detonating explosives.
The recent explosion, initially considered low-intensity, was later found to be a deliberate attack on the railway track. This marks the second attempt targeting freight rail routes in three months, allegedly orchestrated by a pro-Khalistan terror module supported by Pakistan’s ISI.
