On Saturday, Kozhikode District Collector Snehil Kumar Singh refuted claims of security breaches at EVM strongrooms in the Koyilandy and Perambra constituencies, confirming no violations were found.

The allegations were sparked by complaints from UDF leaders about possible breaches, but investigations revealed only external rooms, not housing any EVMs, were accessed. Political calls for investigation ensued nonetheless.

Singh assured the public that the inner perimeters remained secure, supported by a letter from the Chief Electoral Officer. He also announced district-wide prohibitory orders for May 4, vote counting day, to curtail gatherings and regulate firecracker use.
