BJP candidate Vijay Ojha from the Jorasanko Assembly constituency has firmly dismissed allegations of EVM tampering put forth by the Trinamool Congress (TMC). Ojha spoke to ANI, illustrating his steadfast confidence in the electoral process post-repolling directives issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI) amid reported polling discrepancies in West Bengal.

Ojha questioned the legitimacy of the TMC's accusations, highlighting the system's transparency. He remarked on the unrestricted nature of the voting environment, challenging the TMC to reflect on their own faith in the process. Ojha detailed the mechanisms involving postal ballots and separation procedures, emphasizing the presence of TMC representatives at polling sites.

In response, repolling is being conducted across 15 polling stations in the South 24 Parganas district. This includes 11 stations in Magrahat Paschim and four in Diamond Harbour, prompted by alleged irregularities during the previous voting phase on April 29. Voting is carried out from 7 AM to 6 PM under stringent security conditions, aiming for transparent and fair elections.

The BJP lauded the Commission's decision and urged expanding repolling to more booths to maintain electoral integrity. Contrarily, the TMC accused the BJP of creating a politically motivated controversy to besmirch the state's electoral image, further fueled by allegations from BJP’s Amit Malviya regarding voter obstruction in Falta booths.

Furthering these claims, Madhya Pradesh Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya joined the criticism, alleging voting irregularities, including ballot tampering. The ongoing dispute underscores the heated political environment surrounding West Bengal's Assembly elections.
