Tragedy at Naming Ceremony: Young Boy Fatally Shot in Uttar Pradesh

A tragic incident unfolded in Uttar Pradesh's Kasganj district, where a nine-year-old boy was shot dead during a family gathering. The event took place in the village of Yakutganj at a naming ceremony. According to police reports, the young boy, identified as Yashpal alias Yash, was attending the ceremony when a relative, allegedly intoxicated, demanded that he fetch water.

When Yashpal refused to comply, the enraged relative shot him in the stomach, causing chaos among the attendees. The boy was immediately taken to the district hospital with critical injuries and later transferred to Aligarh. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries the following day, as confirmed by local officials.

Authorities have arrested the accused, who had initially fled the scene, near the Khitauli canal bridge. The police have recovered the weapon used in the crime. This incident has once again highlighted the pressing issues of gun violence and substance abuse within communities.
