Smuggling Ring Unraveled: Heroin Seizure Underlines Punjab's Narcotics Challenge

Investigation reveals trans-border smuggling involving drones, with links to a Pakistani smuggler. Authorities have impounded a motorcycle and a case has been registered under relevant narcotics law provisions.

The Punjab Police's Counter Intelligence wing in Amritsar has successfully dismantled a narcotic smuggling operation, arresting three individuals and seizing 12 kilograms of heroin from them.
Those taken into custody include Gurjant Singh, Arvinder Singh, and Jashanpreet Singh, all hailing from the Tarn Taran district. In addition to the contraband, police have also confiscated their motorcycle, suspected of being used to transport these illegal consignments.
Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav revealed that the preliminary investigation suggests Gurjant was in contact with a smuggler based in Pakistan. This revealed a cross-border narcotics operation utilizing drones to deliver heroin. Police are continuing efforts to fully dismantle this network after successfully intercepting the accused during a planned operation.
