Punjab Police have reportedly filed two First Information Reports (FIRs) against Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament (MP) Sandeep Pathak, who recently changed his political allegiance to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), sources revealed on Saturday.

Although specific details about the FIRs remain undisclosed, Pathak's case is intertwined with a significant political shift, as he was among seven Rajya Sabha MPs defecting from AAP, citing a departure from the party's foundational principles and core morals.

The defection, formalized by Rajya Sabha Chairman C P Radhakrishnan, reduced AAP's strength in the Upper House to just three MPs, marking a substantial political realignment in favor of the BJP.
