In a harrowing incident, Shubhra Ranjan, the director of a prestigious IAS coaching institute, was robbed of Rs 1.89 crore by a former student and his accomplices in Bhopal. The police revealed that the crime took place under the guise of opening a new center.
The perpetrators invited Ranjan to a rented house, where she was forcibly held at gunpoint and pressured into transferring funds into several accounts. To drown out her cries for help, the accused orchestrated a religious recital on the premises, ensuring neighbors would remain unaware.
A swift investigation by the police led to the arrest of six individuals, including the main suspect, former student Priyank Sharma. Authorities are still searching for one person believed to be involved, while continuing to probe any additional accomplices.
