European Allies Heed Trump's Call on NATO Commitments

European nations are stepping up to adhere to NATO commitments following a call from U.S. President Donald Trump. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte confirmed on Monday that agreements on military base use are being implemented.

President Trump previously criticized some European NATO members for insufficient support in the context of the Iran conflict. On Friday, the U.S. announced plans to reduce its military presence in Germany.

Despite Spain's restrictions on base usage, other NATO countries like Montenegro, Croatia, Romania, Portugal, Greece, Italy, Britain, France, and Germany are complying with logistical support requests. European countries are also preparing assets for future phases and expressing willingness to support the Strait of Hormuz post-conflict.
