In a significant legal development on Tuesday, the Delhi High Court has modified bail conditions for Engineer Rashid, permitting the incarcerated Baramulla MP to visit his ailing father at AIIMS Delhi for 12 hours daily until May 10.
As part of the modified order, Rashid, facing terror funding charges, will have police personnel accompany him in plain clothes during the visit. Despite the defense’s plea, the court decided to maintain Rashid’s supervised visits, citing security concerns.
The court pointed to logistical challenges raised by the NIA while dismissing their request to restrict mobile phone use, ensuring Rashid limited access during his visitation period. The decision follows Rashid's ongoing legal struggle after charges were framed against him under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
