Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has assured the residents of Narsapur village in Pune that the government will not rest until the person responsible for the brutal crime against a 4-year-old girl is brought to justice and hanged.
The accused, a 65-year-old man, is alleged to have committed similar crimes in the past, provoking significant public anger and demands for the death penalty. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reinforced the commitment to fast-track the case, promising swift justice.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) president Raj Thackeray criticized government responses to such crimes, calling for immediate action beyond legal processes. The issue has sparked wider discussions on the prevalence of violence against women and girls in the state.
