In an audacious act of valor, an auto-rickshaw driver in Hyderabad intercepted a notorious criminal engaged in a gold chain snatching attempt at Begum Bazaar, the police disclosed.

The incident unfolded in the early hours of May 4 when Mohammed Zaher utilized his vehicle to thwart the escape of the criminal, resisting his assault until law enforcement arrived. Commending his bravery, Hyderabad Police Commissioner V C Sajjanar awarded Zaher a Certificate of Appreciation and a cash reward on Tuesday.

This spontaneous act has echoed throughout the community, marking Zaher as a heroic symbol and inspiring a call for citizens to report crimes proactively. The case involving the criminal, connected to numerous offenses, is now registered at the Goshamahal Police Station.
