A 26-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the sexual assault and subsequent suicide of an 11-year-old girl. The incident, which occurred in Deoria Abdullaganj village, saw the minor suffering severe trauma, leading to her tragic passing. The case gained clarity when her younger sister provided crucial information.

A 26-year-old man is under arrest for allegedly sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl, who tragically died by suicide. The post-mortem revealed sexual assault and multiple injuries, confirming the cause of death as hanging, police stated on Wednesday.

The incident was uncovered on April 27 in Deoria Abdullaganj village. Initially reported as a suicide, further investigation following the autopsy report exposed the grave circumstances; the assault resulted in severe physical trauma, leading to a tragic outcome, according to ASP (South) Anshika Verma.

The victim's younger sister informed police that the suspect, Zeeshan, loitered near her school and enticed her with money. The investigation, strengthened by CCTV and family statements, secured his arrest after establishing his involvement. Zeeshan was apprehended near Mirganj's market on Tuesday.
