Imposter Posed as Rahul Gandhi's Secretary to Swindle Crores

In a significant development, Gaurav Kumar, who posed as Rahul Gandhi's personal secretary, is now in 14-day judicial custody for allegedly defrauding Congress leaders nationwide of crores of rupees. Police aim to interrogate him further to uncover the full scope of his fraudulent activities.
The scam was exposed when a Congress leader filed a complaint in Dehradun. The leader, Bhavana Pandey, reported that Kumar swindled her out of Rs 25 lakh, fabricating links to senior Congress figures to promise party positions. Following her report, a comprehensive investigation revealed Kumar's network of deceit, involving multiple states and high-profile impersonations.
The police disclosed that Kumar used a fake 'Truecaller' ID to masquerade as Kanishk Singh, Gandhi's former aide. Based on intelligence and CCTV analysis, police apprehended Kumar while supposedly collecting funds from another victim. His accomplices facilitated numerous scams across different states, with Kumar linked to past fraud cases as well. Efforts continue to identify more victims of this extensive con.
