A catastrophic boat accident on the Yamuna River has left six people missing, including several children. The incident unfolded on Wednesday evening in the Kutubpur Patiya area of Uttar Pradesh, as nine individuals were returning from purchasing produce on a river island.
According to local authorities, the boat unexpectedly lost balance mid-river, leading to the tragedy. Dheeru, the boatman, successfully rescued three passengers – Vishnu, Rinku, and Parul – while six others remain unaccounted for.
Efforts to find the missing are underway, with the National and State Disaster Response Forces actively conducting search operations, informed District Magistrate Abhishek Goyal. The community remains hopeful as the search continues.
