A harrowing incident unfolded in Uttarakhand's Kutubpur Patiya hamlet when a boat carrying nine individuals capsized in the Yamuna river. Six people, including young children, have been reported missing since the unfortunate incident occurred last Wednesday evening.
The boatman, identified as Dheeru, succeeded in rescuing three individuals: Vishnu, Rinku, and Parul. Authorities have launched a comprehensive search operation, deploying teams from the National and State Disaster Response Forces to locate the missing six—Akanksha (9), Rani (9), Brijrani (25), Labhyansh (5), Mahesh (6), and Aditya (11).
Chief Minister Adityanath has instructed immediate relief and rescue operations, emphasizing the need for effective preventive measures. BJP MLA from Hamirpur, Manoj Prajapati, assured compensation for affected families and an official report on the incident to the chief minister.
