Cracking Down: Major Drug Bust at India-Nepal Border

Three alleged interstate drug smugglers were arrested in Maharajganj near the India-Nepal border. Police seized banned narcotic tablets valued at Rs 1 crore. The accused, all from Gorakhpur district, allegedly used their background as medical representatives for cover. This operation is part of intensified anti-narcotics efforts.

Three individuals have been arrested for allegedly smuggling drugs across state lines, with a significant cache of narcotic tablets seized near the India-Nepal border, according to officials.

The operation, a collaborative effort by Maharajganj police and the Sashastra Seema Bal, occurred late Wednesday following a tip-off near the Shyamdeurwa police station.

Following preliminary questioning, it was revealed the accused had been masking their activities using their professional credentials as former medical representatives, authorities announced.
