German government must prioritise growth over redistribution, Merz says

​The ​German government ‌must prioritise economic ​growth over ‌redistribution, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said on Thursday at ‌an event in ‌Berlin.

Economic growth is not an end ⁠in ​itself, ⁠but the prerequisite for a ⁠country's prosperity, Merz said.
