UP: Woman killed, another injured after run over by bus in Sultanpur

A tourist bus hit two women grazing goats, killing one and injuring the other, on the Lucknow-Varanasi National Highway in the Lambhua police station area here on Friday, police said. The deceased was identified as Urmila 51, while Geeta sustained injuries to her arms and legs, they said.

With the help of locals, both women were taken to a community health centre in Lambhua and later referred to a district hospital. Circle Officer Lambhua Ritik Kapoor said Urmila succumbed to her injuries during treatment. The bus driver fled after the accident, he said. The body has been sent for a post-mortem and efforts are underway to identify the vehicle and trace the driver, police said.
