India's High-Powered Committee on Court Modernization
Chief Justice of India Surya Kant has formed a committee led by Supreme Court judge Aravind Kumar to design a modernization plan for courts and secure government funding. The committee will address infrastructural needs, improve facilities, and implement technology to accelerate case resolution across the country.

The Chief Justice of India, Surya Kant, announced the formation of a high-level committee to modernize courts nationwide. Led by Supreme Court judge Aravind Kumar, the committee aims to craft a blueprint and secure government funding for a comprehensive overhaul of the judicial infrastructure.
The Judicial Infrastructure Advisory Committee, also including Justices Debangsu Basak, Ashwani Kumar Mishra, and Somasekhar Sundaresan, will align the diverse infrastructural demands from various High Courts and District Courts, ensuring a uniform upgrade across the nation.
Besides identifying system constraints, the panel is tasked with enhancing facilities for litigants and advocates and implementing cutting-edge technology. The mandate includes promoting 'e-courts' to close the digital gap and designing new court complexes fit for the modern era.
