Union Minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar addressed allegations against his son in a POCSO case on Tuesday, emphasizing his son’s claim of innocence and asserting that justice should prevail if his son is proven guilty. The Minister was speaking at a Hindu Ekta Yatra in Karimnagar, where he highlighted the emotional toll of the accusations.
Kumar criticized the portrayal of his son as a criminal, stressing that according to his son, the relationship was consensual and ended amicably. He firmly stated the importance of the law treating everyone equally and affirmed that any wrongdoing by his son should be punished accordingly.
In what appeared as a critique of the BRS party, Kumar vowed to gather public support against accused conspiracies. Citing neglected responsibilities to his family due to party duties, he also revealed his wife’s distress over the issue. A case was registered on May 8 against his son, Bhageertath, following a complaint of alleged sexual harassment by the girl's family involved.
