Authorities in Arunachal Pradesh's Papum Pare district have arrested four individuals for smuggling a rhinoceros horn valued at about Rs 1.2 crore, officials announced on Wednesday.
The operation, led by Papum Pare Superintendent of Police (Rural) Taru Gusar, took place on May 12 in Hollongi and nearby Assam areas, following credible wildlife trafficking intelligence.
The Balijan Police Station has registered a case, and investigations are ongoing to explore possible interstate or international connections. Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Mama Natung commended the operation, reiterating the government's dedication to wildlife protection.
