In a determined effort to curb drug abuse, police in the Jammu and Kashmir districts of Doda and Samba are dismantling cannabis cultivation on a massive scale. Authorities have destroyed cannabis crops spread across more than 53 kanals of land in these regions.

Doda Police, leading the initiative, conducted anti-drug operations throughout the district. They eradicated wild cannabis covering nearly 36 kanals of land in areas such as Nagri, Tondwah, and Ghat. Other affected locales include Kashtigarh, Chamote, Goha, Billawas, Bagla, and Pul Doda.

In a similar crackdown in Samba district, police targeted a 10-kanal cannabis plantation on government land in Rattwana village. Further operations in Phagsoo, Kahila Jamrayi, Assar, and Baggar have seen the destruction of wild cannabis covering additional significant areas, reinforcing the campaign against narcotics.
