In response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary initiated a series of fuel-saving reforms on Wednesday. A notable move includes significantly reducing the number of vehicles in his convoy, a step towards curbing fuel consumption.

Highlighting an innovative approach, Choudhary proposed implementing 'no vehicle days' weekly and promoted work-from-home practices across state departments. These measures aim to minimize the demand for petrol and diesel within the state.

Choudhary also urged public representatives to prioritize public transit and reduce the use of additional escort vehicles. In government offices, a shift away from palm oil usage in canteens was advised, reflecting a broader strategy to cope with potential global crises, as warned by PM Modi.
