Revolution Against Narcotics: A New Dawn in Jammu and Kashmir

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha leads an anti-drug campaign in Jammu and Kashmir, transforming it into a mass movement. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, on Wednesday, emphasized the significance of the ongoing anti-drug campaign in Jammu and Kashmir, explaining how it has severely impacted the drug-smuggling networks. This initiative, known as 'Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan,' reached the Kupwara district with a padyatra led by Sinha himself.

The foot march, which began at the Government Boys Higher Secondary School and concluded at Main Chowk Kupwara, saw a large turnout, including numerous students. Sinha addressed the participants, stating, "For 32 days, we have struck a devastating blow to the drug smuggling ecosystem; this movement is evolving into a revolutionary stand against narcotics."

The concerted efforts by the administration have resulted in the seizure of assets worth crores and the arrest of over 730 smugglers and peddlers. The campaign saw its inception in Jammu on April 11 and has since spread to other regions, including a significant padyatra in Srinagar on May 3.
