Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested two individuals on Wednesday for allegedly aiding foreign members of the Jaish-e-Muhammad terror group's Saifullah faction in Kishtwar district. Among those arrested were Mashkoor Ahmed, a government school teacher, and Maneer Ahmed, both of whom played roles in providing logistical support to terror operatives.
The arrests are part of an ongoing effort to dismantle terror networks in the region. The operation follows the Army's encounter on February 22, where three terrorists from the Saifullah group were killed in Chatroo. The operation was described as a decisive move against anti-national elements, said a police spokesperson.
Investigations revealed Mashkoor Ahmed's direct involvement in facilitating a hideout in Chatroo, providing aid to foreign terrorists. The initial probe is ongoing to expose additional facets of the terror support network. Law enforcement reiterated its zero-tolerance stance, warning of strict consequences for terrorist supporters.
