In a bid to champion sustainability and austerity, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has called on ministers to use public transport at least once a week and reduce their official vehicle fleets by up to 50 percent. This initiative aligns with a broader strategy towards responsible governance, energy conservation, and fiscal prudence.

Chairing the first integrated Cabinet meeting post-ministry expansion, Adityanath emphasized the national necessity of fuel conservation, echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's appeal to minimize petrol and diesel consumption. He suggested weekly public transport use by ministers to convey a positive message and foster public participation in energy-saving strategies.

Further, Adityanath encouraged the adoption of virtual modes for governance, hybrid meetings, and work-from-home policies in large institutions. Advocating for solar and electric vehicle usage, he also stressed the importance of local economic support, urging the prioritization of domestically-produced goods and services.
