At the BRICS conclave, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar stressed the importance of unity among member nations to tackle these geopolitical challenges.

Jaishankar emphasized the need for upholding international law, protecting civilians, and ensuring maritime security, while also calling out the detrimental impact of unilateral sanctions. He advocated for the de-escalation of tensions and the pursuit of peaceful resolutions through dialogue and diplomacy.

The meeting's significance is underscored by the inclusion of 11 major emerging economies, representing nearly half of the global population. As India chairs this BRICS summit, the focus remains on fostering cooperation and advocating for reforms within the United Nations system to ensure a more stable and equitable international order.
