Thane Railway Police Launches Major Crackdown on Vagrancy and Drug Trade

In a significant move, Thane railway police launched an aggressive crackdown on vagrants and drug peddlers between the Thane and Diva railway stations, apprehending 13 individuals.
According to a press release by Senior Inspector Archana Dusane of the Thane railway police, the operation targeted individuals engaging in begging activities and illegal drug trade.
Eleven people were booked under the Bombay Prevention of Begging Act, and two others faced charges under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, the release detailed.
