The police in Jammu and Kashmir have detained a notorious gangster under the Public Safety Act (PSA) for his involvement in criminal activities. Pritam Singh, also known as Sethi, was apprehended in Samba for unlawful possession of weapons and narcotics-related offenses, according to officials.
Singh, a resident of Jerda village in Ramgarh tehsil, is associated with the 'Royal gang' and has a substantial criminal record. The charges against him include attempts to murder, assault, rioting, and violations under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Despite various legal actions, Singh had continued his illegal activities, fostering insecurity within the community. Following the District Magistrate's detention order, he was transferred to District Jail Bhaderwah under the PSA, marking a decisive step in restoring peace and order.
