Hostage Crisis in Manipur: Naga and Kuki Community Members Released

In a significant development, police reported the release of 31 out of 38 kidnapped hostages from the Kuki and Naga communities in Manipur. These individuals had been abducted by armed groups in the Kangpokpi and Senapati districts.
The crisis unfolded after three church leaders were assassinated and a civilian was killed, escalating tensions within the region. Efforts by the Manipur Home Minister and civil society were crucial in negotiating for their freedom.
The release included Naga women from Konsakhul village and several Kuki individuals, who were later handed over to security forces. Protests continue as the communities demand further action and security assurances.
