Geologist Busted with Cocaine in Colombo

A 60-year-old Indian national has been detained at Colombo airport on charges of drug trafficking, according to airport officials. The individual, identified as a geologist, was apprehended on arrival from Uganda via Doha on a Qatar Airways flight.

Cocaine weighing over 2 kilograms valued at approximately 108 million Sri Lankan rupees was discovered expertly concealed within his luggage. Customs officials conducted a thorough inspection, revealing approximately 2.15 kilograms of the illegal substance.

This arrest follows closely on the heels of another Indian national's arrest at the same airport for smuggling more than four kilograms of Kush cannabis, with an estimated street value of 43.8 million rupees.
