In a significant breakthrough, Thane police have solved the murder case of Arbaz Khan, a 24-year-old civil engineer, whose body was discovered stuffed in a drum in the Vasai area over a month ago.
The investigation unraveled that the crime stemmed from a thwarted extortion plan, leading to the arrest of a nurse named Mehjabin Sheikh and her brother. Khan's call records, analyzed post-murder, suggested his final location matched where Sheikh was present, indicating their connection in the crime.
The incident unfolded after Khan disappeared on April 3 on his way to collect a payment in Dadar, Mumbai. Following investigative leads, police determined that financial disputes and personal relationships played pivotal roles in the murder. While two suspects remain fugitives, significant progress has been made in piecing together this grisly crime.
