A 60-year-old man named Mohan Malasi was tragically killed by a leopard while collecting cattle fodder in Kamand village, Pauri block. The incident occurred between 6.30 pm and 7 pm, according to officials.
After Malasi failed to return home, a search party led by family and villagers found his mutilated body in the bushes. Garhwal Forest Division confirmed receipt of the distress call around 9 pm, prompting an immediate response from forest, police, and revenue teams.
Protests erupted, led by local Uttarakhand Kranti Dal leaders who criticized the authorities for the slow response. This attack is reportedly the seventh in the area recently, and tension mounted as people demanded urgent actions to prevent further tragedies.
