In a striking turn of events, Jharkhand police arrested five individuals for the alleged abduction of two construction workers in East Singhbhum district, demanding a ransom of Rs 10 lakh. The victims, a supervisor and an assistant manager, were taken hostage from the Mango flyover construction site on Thursday night.
The suspects allegedly arrived at 3 am in an unmarked Bolero, coercing the victims into the vehicle after their inability to meet the ransom demand led to physical assault. The district police headquarters confirmed this in their statement.
The swift response from authorities, led by DSP (Patamda) Bachandev Kujjur under City SP Lalit Meena, resulted in the rescue of the victims following police raids. The arrested suspects include Shiva Goud and four others, all residents of the surrounding districts.
