Graphic Designer Wins Rs 41.81 Lakh Compensation for Road Accident Disability

In Maharashtra, the Motor Accident Claims Tribunal awarded Rs 41.81 lakh to a graphic designer, severely injured in a 2021 road accident. The tribunal ordered the car's owner and the insurance company to jointly pay the amount, rejecting their claims of contributory negligence by the victim.

The Motor Accident Claims Tribunal in Maharashtra's Thane district mandated a significant compensation payout for a young graphic designer.

The 28-year-old, Swapnil Ganpat Salvi, was awarded Rs 41.81 lakh, following severe injuries sustained in a 2021 road mishap. A tribunal member ruled that both the car's owner and the insurance company must pay this compensation jointly.

The accident left Salvi with a permanent disability while riding on the Mumbai-Goa Highway, leading to significant financial and career setbacks. Despite objections and claims of negligence by the opposing party, the tribunal found no evidence to support these accusations.
