Elections for urban local bodies in Himachal Pradesh kicked off on Sunday, registering a 14% voter turnout within the initial two hours, officials stated.
Voting started at 7 a.m. across 51 urban local bodies, including key municipal corporations such as Dharamshala, Solan, Mandi, and Palampur.
A total of 3,60,859 voters, alongside 1,808 first-time voters, are casting their ballots for 1,147 candidates vying for 449 positions. Results for municipal corporations will be announced on May 31.
