A clash erupted in the Gudimalkapur area on Saturday night after an altercation over suspected cattle transportation in a truck turned out to be a misunderstanding, according to police.
The incident began when local 'gau rakshaks' halted a vehicle they believed was illegally transporting cows. Upon inspection, it was found that the truck was carrying only plywood, not cattle, as originally suspected.
The situation escalated into physical altercations and stone-pelting between the two groups, prompting police to use mild lathi charge to control the situation. Two police officers sustained injuries. A case has been registered and authorities are continuing their investigation, although they report the situation is now under control.
