In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's advocacy for reduced fuel consumption and cost-cutting, Delhi Police has been instructed to use public transport and implement energy-efficient practices. An official announcement detailed 13 strategies targeted at curbing vehicular movement and optimizing government resources.
Key measures include prioritizing Metro connectivity for commuting, pooling vehicles, conducting meetings virtually, and enforcing robust vehicle maintenance protocols to prevent unnecessary fuel usage. The directives emphasize rationalizing VIP convoy sizes and maintaining meticulous records of fuel consumption.
Additionally, the order stresses digital communication, reducing paper use, and promoting 'Made in India' products to curtail expenditure. The guidelines further call for prudent energy management, ensuring optimal air-conditioning usage, and regulatory hospitality expenses as part of the broader effort.
