Sona Pappu, wanted in connection with a money laundering investigation, appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Kolkata on Monday. Accused of land grabbing and extortion, he had been on the run since the agency started its probe.
Pappu's presence coincides with the recent arrest of Kolkata Police Deputy Commissioner Santanu Sinha Biswas, who has been implicated in activities allegedly connected to Pappu. The central agency is investigating charges of financial fraud against both individuals.
Despite facing serious allegations, Pappu denied any wrongdoing as he entered the ED's office. He asserted that no complaint has been filed against him at any police station and claimed not to know Biswas. The investigation continues as the ED digs deeper into the case.
