Punjab Police Dismantles Smuggling Network

In a significant development, Punjab Police on Monday apprehended a suspect linked to an illicit firearms and narcotics trafficking operation. The arrest led to the recovery of seven advanced pistols and 2.1 kg of heroin, according to a top official.
Director General of Police, Punjab, Gaurav Yadav, announced that the Amritsar Commissionerate Police had successfully dismantled the smuggling module, marking a major breakthrough in the fight against drug and illegal arms smuggling. Preliminary investigations disclosed that the accused had contacts with a foreign-based smuggler, transacting through virtual phone numbers.
The suspect received shipments of drugs and firearms intended for distribution within Punjab. Authorities have registered a case at an Amritsar police station and are actively pursuing further investigations to unravel the network's complete structure and identify other possible associates involved.
