A special court has been constituted in Pune to conduct a day-to-day trial in the rape and murder case of a minor girl in Nasrapur, officials revealed on Monday. Set to start on May 21, the proceedings will be overseen by District Judge-6, S R Salunkhe, under stringent security measures.
The case involves a shocking crime against a four-year-old in Nasrapur village, under Rajgad police's jurisdiction. FIR No. 169/2026 was filed on May 2, naming Bhimrao Prabhakar Kamble, a 65-year-old with prior convictions, as the suspect. Prosecutors will request court-monitored crime scene inspections and are pushing for quick trial completion and harsh penalties.
The brutal incident sparked outrage, challenging law enforcement in the area. Authorities handled the unrest with significant police deployment, led by Pune Rural SP Sandeep Gill. Special Public Prosecutor Ajay Misar, appointed by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, is leveraging his extensive legal experience to ensure justice is served rapidly. The over 1,100-page chargesheet comprises comprehensive evidence, including CCTV and forensic reports.
