Probe Launched into Alleged Exploitation at Birsa Munda Jail
Ranchi's Deputy Commissioner has established a committee to investigate alleged sexual exploitation of a female inmate at Birsa Munda Central Jail. In a significant move, Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri has formed a three-member committee to investigate allegations of sexual exploitation at Birsa Munda Central Jail. This inquiry comes in response to serious claims made against the Jail Superintendent.
BJP state spokesperson Ajay Sah has called for a judicial probe, citing the Jail Superintendent Kumar Chandrashekhar's history of allegations, which include past misconduct at other facilities. Sah has also accused Inspector General of Prisons Sudarshan Mandal of attempting to cover up the case.
Amidst these developments, political leaders like Babulal Marandi are insisting on a high-level investigation, urging the chief minister to take stringent action. The BJP plans to approach national bodies to ensure justice is served.
