Major Drug Bust in Meerut: Police Nab Traffickers
Police in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, conducted a significant drug bust resulting in the arrest of two traffickers. They recovered over eight kilograms of narcotics, an illegal pistol, and cash. The accused, with prior criminal records, have been booked under the NDPS Act and the Arms Act.

In an extensive crackdown on narcotics in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, police successfully apprehended two alleged drug traffickers on Monday. The operation, led by a team from the Sadar Bazar police station, saw the recovery of more than eight kilograms of drugs, including ganja and charas.
During a raid in the Rajban outpost area, authorities arrested Shubham, also known as Shibbu, a local resident, seizing 5.792 kg of ganja, 65 grams of charas, Rs 4,400 in cash, a .32 bore country-made pistol, and narcotics packing materials. In a separate incident, Jeetu, another resident, was detained with 2.532 kg of ganja.
Both accused have notable past criminal records and charges filed under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and the Arms Act. They were produced before the court following their arrests.
