A fire broke out at a girls' paying guest accommodation in west Delhi's Rajouri Garden area on Wednesday evening, officials said.
A PCR call about the blaze was received at around 8.36 pm, following which police and fire department teams rushed to Vishal Enclave in Tagore Garden, they said.
According to police, around 22 girls were staying in the PG accommodation. The fire reportedly started on the ground floor close to the staircase where an inverter was installed, apparently due to a short circuit.
Seven fire tenders from the Delhi Fire Services and a team from BSES were deployed to control the blaze.
''The fire was brought under control in time and remained confined to the ground floor area near the staircase only,'' a police officer said.
A DFS official said the fire was doused by 9.05 pm.
No casualty or injury was reported in the incident, officials said.
