Russia says it maintains contact with Cuba on all matters of interest

​Russia maintains ​contact with Cuba ‌on all ​matters of mutual interest, Russia's ‌foreign ministry said on Thursday when asked if the Communist-run island republic had ‌asked Moscow for military assistance.

"We ‌maintain contact with Cuba on all issues of interest to our two ⁠countries," ​Russian ⁠Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said in ⁠response to a question from ​Reuters.

Zakharova dismissed an Axios report ⁠that Cuba had acquired more than 300 ⁠drones ​from Russia and Iran to potentially attack U.S. interests, ⁠casting the article as a fictional ⁠shot ⁠in an information war.
