The Delhi government plans to transform registrar offices into modern and citizen-centric service centres, modelled on the efficiency and time-bound service delivery seen at Passport Seva Kendras, the chief minister said on Saturday.
Gupta said the city government will overhaul the capital's property registration system, including ''AI-powered facial recognition for identity verification, background checks and blockchain-backed record security''.
Digital record management, geo-fencing and secure data integration will make property records tamper-proof, curb fraud and reduce disputes, she said.
''The aim is to transform how these offices function so that citizens registering property no longer deal with delays, corruption, middlemen or unnecessary hassles,'' she said.
According to the chief minister, the government plans to create one of the country's most advanced property registration systems.
''Keeping future requirements in mind, the government also plans to introduce advanced security and verification mechanisms,'' Gupta said.
The chief minister said while private partners may assist in establishing and operating premium model registrar centres, all statutory powers and final decision-making authority will remain exclusively with government officials.
