PM Modi Meets U.S. Secretary of State, Reaffirms India’s Support for Peace Through Dialogue and Diplomacy

The meeting reflected the growing depth of ties between India and the United States, which continue to expand across economic, technological, geopolitical, and security domains.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on Saturday met United States Secretary of State H.E. Mr. Marco Rubio, with discussions focusing on strengthening the India-U.S. strategic partnership and reviewing ongoing cooperation across key sectors including defence, advanced technologies, trade, energy security, connectivity, education, and people-to-people engagement.

The meeting reflected the growing depth of ties between India and the United States, which continue to expand across economic, technological, geopolitical, and security domains. Secretary Rubio briefed Prime Minister Modi on the sustained progress being made in bilateral cooperation and highlighted the increasing momentum in joint initiatives between the two countries.

According to official sources, both sides reviewed developments in critical and emerging technologies, an area that has become central to the India-U.S. strategic relationship in recent years. Global geopolitical developments and regional security challenges continue to remain areas of close consultation between New Delhi and Washington, particularly amid ongoing conflicts and rising tensions in several parts of the world.

During the discussions, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reaffirmed India's long-standing and consistent position in support of peace, stability, and diplomatic engagement. He reiterated that conflicts should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy and emphasized the importance of peaceful solutions to international disputes.

India has consistently advocated for de-escalation, humanitarian considerations, and diplomatic negotiations in global conflict situations, positioning itself as a voice supporting dialogue-based solutions while maintaining strategic autonomy in foreign policy matters.
