A young woman from Simdega has been rescued by the Jharkhand Police after being trafficked and sold for Rs 3 lakh in Rajasthan. Officials confirmed the rescue on Tuesday.

The ordeal began in 2023 when a man from a neighboring village promised her a job and brought her to Delhi. Instead, she was employed as a domestic help through a placement agency, from which she later escaped.

While wandering near Anand Vihar bus stand, she encountered a couple from Meerut who sold her to a Barmer family near the India-Pakistan border. With police intervention, she was eventually rescued and reunited with her family in Simdega.
