A 17-year-old student was shot at a restaurant in southeast Delhi's Amar Colony after he confronted another customer for brushing past his chair, leading to a violent escalation. The assailant, a minor, was arrested shortly after the incident.
The teenager was with friends when a group of boys passed by their table and one brushed against his chair. A disagreement broke out, resulting in the boys leaving, but they returned shortly to confront the victim. The suspect fired at the student, who remains in critical condition at the AIIMS Trauma Centre.
Police were alerted to the shooting on Tuesday evening and have since formed multiple teams to investigate. They are reviewing CCTV footage to reconstruct events and trace the escape route. The victim's father, who operates a laundry business locally, is distraught over the incident.
